Personal data protection

The BCA is committed to respecting user privacy.

The protection policy of individuals with respect to the processing of their personal data is protected by the BCA and by the Law.

The user can browse the BCA page, without providing any type of personal information, but in some cases, this information is necessary to provide the electronic services requested. The websites that require such information treat it in full compliance with the provisions of the aforementioned Regulation and report on the use of the data in their specific privacy statements.

In this regard:

  • for each electronic service, a controller determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data and ensures compliance with the privacy policy;
  • a data protection officer is located in the BCA, who ensures that the provisions of the Regulation are applied and advises the other departments on the fulfillment of their obligations; and
  • for BCA, the Compliance Unit acts as an independent supervisory authority.

The BCA provides links to third party websites. In order to use third party content on our websites, you may need to agree to their specific terms and conditions, including cookie policies over which we have no control.

Electronic services

A BCA web-based e-service is a service or resource made available on the Internet to improve communication between citizens and businesses on the one hand and the BCA on the other.

Three types of e-services are or will be offered on the BCA website:

  • information services, which provide access to information to citizens, media, companies, administrations, etc.
  • interactive communication services, which allow better contact with citizens, companies, civil society and public agencies, in order to facilitate consultation processes and response mechanisms.
  • transaction services, which provide access to all types of basic procedures with the BCA: recruitment, financial transactions, hiring of personnel and registration of events.

Information included in specific confidentiality statements

The specific confidentiality statements must contain the following information on the use of the interested party:

  • what information is collected and for what purpose and what technical means the BCA uses to collect personal information for a specific purpose;
  • to whom the data is disclosed;
  • how data can be accessed, checked for accuracy and, if necessary, corrected;
  • how long the data is kept;
  • what security measures are taken to protect the data against possible misuse or unauthorized access; and
  • who to contact with questions or complaints.

Protecting information

The personal data collected are stored on the BCA website, which is responsible for processing them, thus ensuring the protection and confidentiality of the data in accordance with the provisions of the BCA Regulation.

Verification, modification or deletion of data

If you wish to check, modify or delete your personal data stored by the data controllers of the BCA website and the sites it contains, you can send an e-mail to the data controller of DG Communication at the address below. In your e-mail, please clearly state your request, mentioning the URL address of the websites you are referring to.
