Language policy
Our goal is to inform the reader in their own language or in another language they understand, depending on the type of information they wish to obtain. The BCA website initially has 2 official languages, but we intend to integrate most of the languages with the help of the people who manage the franchises of the banks of the different countries, so that they have direct information on Legislation and key political documents.
Official documents
They are initially published in at least the two languages contained on the web at the time of publication. Non-legally binding documents are generally only published in English and Spanish.
General information
It is published in all the languages the web has.
Urgent or time-limited information
Initially, it appears in a single language if it is addressed to specific readers. Later, others are added, always depending on the needs of the users.
Specialized information (technical data, campaigns), news and events
They appear in a limited number of languages or even just one: it depends on the intended reader.
Urgency
Some information should be communicated immediately. First, the text is published only in one or two languages (depending on the readers to whom it is intended) and later, in one or two stages, others are added.
Technical imperatives
Managing a website in more than 20 languages requires a large amount of human and financial resources.
With all this in mind, BCA will increasingly rely on the following approach:
At the first and second levels of each site, basic information will be offered, with a long term of validity and intended for a non-specialized public, in all official languages.
In general, information that is highly specialized or has a short validity period will only be published in some languages or even one, depending on the readers to whom it is intended.
